The Streak

The Streak is about a boy named Jamie Farrell who had bad luck seven times by missing a shot in basketball.He broke a slide from a microscope, threw milk container on a kids lap, forgot his wallet, hurt his leg, broke a bottle, and he flunked out in his test. So Jamie was bummed that all of this had happen to him that day. The next day seven good things happened to him they were, making a egg into a egg carton, he does good on a pop quiz, got a free soda, made an amazing shot in to a waste basket, made the winning basket, and got a shot with Celia to the dance.

Angela's Eyes

This short story is about a girl named Angela who has eyes that no one else has on 145th street. One day Angela had a dream that one of her neighbor was going to pass away. Then the next day he passed away; she was scared and didn't know what to do when that happen. She told her family about her problem and they were too shocked at what they heard.From now on, every other week or so, someone who live on 145th Street passed away.

Fighter

Fighter, is about a man named Bill Giles who every day he tells his wife that he was just going to the gym to work out. But his wife didn’t know that he was really fighting. Since he would box everyday, he would stay out late and he would come back home either bruised up or bleeding. When Bill Giles comes back home, his wife would ask, "what happen;" and he would tell her that he got mug or any other excuse that related to how he got bruised. Then one night he was having a tough round up against Vegas. Both of them were punching each other like there was no tomorrow and finally Vegas got Bill on his face and he went down.

The Baddest Dog in Harlem

This story is about a dog and a little boy shot. The story takes place on 145th street in Harlem, when someone calls 9-1-1, about a person having a gun in a building. When polices arrived, they surrounded the building with guns out. Then all of a sudden, a girl calls out ," there he is." When the polices heard those three words, they started shooting on the top floor. After the blast of bullets had stopped, the police went to the top floor, and checked every room. When they opened the last room they found a dog and a little boy shot.

Big Joe's Funeral

It was Forth of July when the funeral took place. Nobody was moving or wandering around except for Peach Jones. Peach Jones was planning to destroy Big Joe's funeral. Big Joe was a man who owned Big Joe's Bar-B-Que and Burger Restaurant on 145th Street. He decided to cancel his life insurance because he has been paying on it for twenty years, and if he cancels his insurance he get back a check from the company for eighteen thousand dollars. After getting his check he also decided to have a good funeral.The smart idea behind the funeral was that if Big Joe has a early funeral he wouldn't need another funeral when he actually dies. He quickly then started planning for his funeral but eventually the funeral became a big party.
